PATNA: Railway minister Lalu Prasad on Thursday commissioned a new railway line that links his sasural (in-law's place) at Phulwaria in Gopalganj district.
Expressing happiness after commissioning the new railway line, Lalu said: "Rabri and my brothers-in-law are too happy about the new railway line. It's a matter of pride for me as well."
He, however, rued that the new line linking Phulwaria with Seralkala would have been commissioned much earlier had the railways been given land in time. The work for laying the said line had started in 2006.
Earlier in the day, Lalu inaugurated the Hatua-Bhatni New Railway Project. Apart from inaugurating the extension of passenger amenities at Hatua railway station, he also opened a new railway line from Hatua to Phulwaria. More stations will be inaugurated within a short span of time and passenger amenities will also be increased, the railway minister said.
"Indian Railways has a very fascinating story and as long as I am the railway minister, I will continue to make to make the story more interesting," he added.
