Overseas cell for placement in Australia soon: Modi

Patna, May 25: The Bihar government will soon set up an overseas cell for placement in Australia for jobs for youths from the state, Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi said on Friday. There were "vast opportunities" for jobs in various sectors in Australia. "With a population of only two crore and a growing tendency among the married women not to have children, there are vast opportunities for placement of both skilled and unskilled youths," Modi told reporters on his return from a 10-day trip to Australia and Singapore. Modi, who holds the portfolios of finance and labour resources, said the state government would soon set up an overseas centre for placement of the youths from the state in Australia. The Centre would coordinate with the Indian High Commission in Canberra, he said. Modi said that during his visit he also appointed representatives of Bihar Foundation, the apex body formed by the Nitish Kumar government to mobilise investments, in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, besides Singapore.
