A day after the deadly assault by the Maoist terrorists at Riga village in Sitamarhi district on Saturday that left one Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) jawan dead, law enforcement officials in Bihar launched a massive combing operation at the Bihar-Nepal border including in Sitamarhi, Sheohar, and Western Champaran districts to smoke out terrorists from their hideouts and into the long arms of the law.With red alert issued for all Naxal-infected areas in Bihar including Gaya, Jehanabad, and Nawada, officials issued tough warnings to the extremists saying their days in Bihar were numbered and the only way they could expect to be alive if they surrendered before the law enforcement officials.Director General of Police (DGP) Ashish Ranjan Sinha, in Patna on Sunday, said the government would provide Rs. 10 lakh to the family of the slain SAP jawan.FIRs have been lodged against nearly 250 unidentified extremists, including many women, Sinha said.Meanwhile, the state government has asked the Central government to provide ten companies of Central Para-military Force to tackle terrorism in the North Bihar, it was learnt.
