Bihar got an NIPER; Thanks to Paswanjee

Last year in July, when I met Hon'ble Union Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals and Steel Sri Ram Vilas Paswan to request to push the matter of establishment of an Indian Institute of Science for Education and Research (IISER), he said about his efforts to establish National Institute of Pharmaceutical education and Research (NIPER) at Hajipur. He also promised to bring an IISER in Bihar. (see here). The determination with which he said about was crystal clear reflections of truth at that time too and now it is a fact that NIPER is coming to Bihar. The other tentative places for the establishment of a NIPER are Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and there is already first NIPER at Mohali (source).Thanks to sincere efforts of Paswanjee that made it. He has done justice to Bihar by bringing such a prestigious national institute. NIPER is a national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences like IISERs or IISc for Science and IITs for technologies. NIPERs have been marked as Institute of National Importance by the government of India. The existing NIPER in the country serves as Center of Excellence (COE) of international repute. It provides excellent facilities for advanced research and education in pharmaceutical sciences and technology. NIPER provides special emphasis on master, doctoral and post-doctoral courses in different areas of pharmaceutical science. Undoubtedly, people with aspirations to do some excellent work in this area will get opportunity in their home state. What one can hope in the whole is that presence of NIPER will create special impacts on the research and academic activities in the area of pharmaceutical science and technology. It will certainly call for industrialization in the related area which in turn will create job opportunities too.Other central ministers from Bihar should also give such gifts to Bihar. That will add fuel to the vehicles of developing Bihar. I also hope Paswanjee and other central ministers will not ignore the issue of IISER for Bihar.
