MNS row: Tata employee's house ransacked in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR: The residence of a Marathi official of Tata Motors in Jamshedpur was on Tuesday ransacked allegedly by activists of Bharatiya Bhojpuri Sa ngh (BBS) in protest against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's (MNS) assault on Biharis in Mumbai.

Dozens of activists gathered in front of S B Borwankar's house and started brick-batting, ransacked flower-pots and damaged the glasspanes of the bungalow, company sources said.
However, no harm was caused to the family members who were inside the house. Borwankar was away at a meeting at the Circuit House here.

Borwankar is a resident of Maharashtra. A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mahdusudan Bari went to the spot but the activists escaped.
Police have launched a hunt to apprehend the persons involved. Two persons were detained for interrogation in this regard, sources said.

The president of BBS, Anand Bihar Dubey, who is also the Jamshedpur town committee president of JMM, denied Sangh activists were involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, the steel city today witnessed a series of effigy burning of MNS chief Raj Thackeray in protest against the assault on Biharis.

The East Singhbhum district administration has tightened security in and around Maharashtra Hitkari Sangh building here in Bistupur following the recent incidents in Maharashtra.
