CBI nabs officials while accepting bribe


PATNA: CBI sleuths trapped two Central government officials while they were accepting bribe at two different places in Bihar on Wednesday.
In the first case, the central agency officials arrested IIFCO (Patna) deputy manager Gajendra Prasad Singh when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from one Awadhesh Kumar Singh.
The IIFCO official was seeking the graft for releasing DAP fertiliser allotted to the state. In the second case, clerk in Central School, IOC, Barauni, R P Rai was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from one Rakesh Kumar.
Rai had asked for the graft for getting Kumar's ward admitted to the Kendriya Vidyalaya, CBI sources said. The court of CBI special judge Radheshyam Prasad on Wednesday forwarded Gajendra to judicial remand up to June 9.
