Patna, May 27: The Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) and UNICEF have signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs).
The first is on training of state government officers on the the social sector programmes-particularly in the sectors of nutrition, health, water and sanitation, child protection and education, among others, BIPARD Director-General A K Choudhary and UNICEF state representative Bijaya Rajbhandari signed the MOUs in Patna today.
''This is for the first time that BIPARD is signing such an MoU with an organisation,'' said Mr Choudhary.
The second MoU is in the field of disaster preparedness management. UNICEF will support the BIPARD in training government officers on disaster preparedness, particularly in building in the disaster component in their working.
The MoUs formalises the partnership between UNICEF and BIPARD.
The objective is to train IAS/PCS officers on ''management of social sector programmes''.
Under the MoU, social sector programming will become an inherent part of the training courses BIPARD organises for IAS and BAS officers.
