Case against Bihar building dept officials

Vigilance bureau on Saturday lodged a case against seven persons, including a senior retired engineer, charging them with commiting irregularities, corruption and misappropriation of fund allotted for executing various projects under the state building department in Sheikhpura district of Bihar.

Apart from retired Executive Engineer Kapildeo Yadav, Assistant Engineer Dinesh Chandra and junior engineer Vidya Sagar, a clerk of Seikhpura building division Ramchandra Singh and contractors Brijnanandan Prasad, Khalid Aziz Siddiqui alias Shekhu, Pramod Kumar Singh and Ramchandra Singh, were also named in the case registered at the Vigilance Police Station.


Earlier, District Magistrate, Sheikhpura, conducted an inquiry into the irregularities and found that Yadav ordered payment of Rs 49 lakh in connivance with other accused though works of various projects under the building department in the district remained 'incomplete'.


The vigilance wing would soon move the court seeking issue of warrants of arrest against the accused, vigilance sources said.
