Communal tension in Darbhanga, 12 injured

Nearly a dozen people were injured in a communal clash after a person was allegedly found with defecating a graveyard in Darbhanga town of Bihar, official sources said on Monday. Several people belonging to a particular community gathered at a place and started throwing brickbats and stones on others after they received information about someone defecating a graveyard in Biji, near here yesterday, sources said. All the injured were sent to the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital, they said. Patrolling was intensified as tension prevailed in the area after the clash, the sources said, adding they were keeping close watch on trouble-makers. District Magistrate Upendra Sharma held a meeting of peace committee and urged the people to maintain calm, sources said. Two policemen were suspended on the charge of dereliction of duty in this connection, they added.
