PATNA: In a major embarrassment to Bihar Congress, a government constable on Tuesday lodged an FIR against party MLA Sunita Devi accusing her of sexually exploiting him while he worked as her bodyguard for almost two years.
In fact, constable Baleshwar Singh Sharma, alias Lali, has been talking about his exploitation to TV reporters since Monday. The FIR on Tuesday added he is now getting threats.
The MLA, who represents Katihar's Korha reserved seat in the assembly, on Tuesday described her former bodyguard's allegations as baseless. She said she has been in public life for over two decades; has been the district Congress chief for five years and a member of the AICC for long; and that she has always had a clean image.
Referring to her photographs on TV with the bodyguard too close in the frame, the MLA said she treated Lali like a brother and the picture was taken by her brother on raksha bandhan. She said Lali's younger brother lived in her flat while studying in Patna and his elder brother often took money from her the treatment of his wife and children.
The MLA said she got Lali removed as her bodyguard after substantial amount of cash, jewellery and documents went missing from her house.
