Tokens of love for Ash

PATNA, April 11: If Beauty Queen Aishwarya Rai gets mehendi from Sojat in Rajasthan, she will get a unique sari from a girl who has not missed a single film of hers and also lahatiĆ¢ (lacquer bangles) from a local manufacturer in Bihar. Ash may or may not adorn herself with any of these “priceless” gifts but, well, her marriage announcement with Junior B has got her fans in Bihar in a tizzy, in their zeal to give her their tokens of affection. Trained in embroidery and stitching, a girl from Gopalganj ~ home district of India’s most colourful politician Lalu Prasad ~ Jyoti Kumai (17), has been working tirelessly for the past month, such is her fascination for the former Miss World. A graduate from a local college, Jyoti is embroidering a red sari that she intends to personally hand over to Ash ahead of her wedding in Mumbai. To ensure that she gets it, Jyoti is taking the help of three college friends. A Muzaffarpur manufacturer will present her the lacquer bangles of a special variety. He says: “Since I don’t have enough money to travel to Mumbai, I will send the parcel to her through a courier.” What is intriguing is that the people of Patna have already celebrated the marriage of Ash and Abhishek Bachchan before the formal wedding to be reportedly solemnised on 20 April. They organised a grand “reception” at Fatuha in Patna about a month back. The organisers placed the pictures of the couple on two thrones, garlanded them and gave them attractively wrapped gifts. The “guests” enjoyed a hearty banquet
