No ticket, Bihar cop suspended

Patna, April 10 (IANS)
A police official in Bihar was suspended on charges of travelling in a train's air-conditioned coach without ticket, officials said Tuesday.
Home Commissioner Afzal Amanullah said H.N. Deva, commandant of the Bihar Military Police (Katihar), was suspended after investigations proved that he had misused his position to travel on an unauthorised pass of a colleague.
Deva was caught with the railway pass of Deputy Superintendent of Police Arshad Zaman Aug 30, 2006 in Bangalore.
Amanullah said Deva had then been detained at Bangalore station. He was released within a day after furnishing a bail bond of Rs.2,500. He also had to pay a fine of Rs.3,713 to the Government Railway Police.
