Boy kidnapped; one shot in city

PATNA: A young boy, Sarvajeet Kumar, is suspected to have been kidnapped by unidentified persons. Agamkuan police have registered a case of kidnapping in this connection.
According to sources, Sarvajeet, son of one Rajiv Kumar of Ekangar Sarai, had gone on Saturday evening to attend his coaching class, but he failed to return home till Sunday evening.
Suspecting foul play, the father has reported the matter to the police who have lodged a case of kidnapping. One killed: One Gopal Sao was shot dead by unidentified miscreants near his house in Danapur on Sunday evening.
The immediate cause of the killing could not be known. The police on the basis of preliminary investigation maintained that Sao was killed due to personal enmity. Dacoits loot house: : A dacoity was committed in the wee hours of Sunday in the railway quarter of Shail Sinha located in New Colony area under the Khagaul police station.
The armed criminals looted valuables worth about Rs 1.5 lakh, including money in cash, ornaments and other costly articles of the house. According to the police, the criminals, who were seven in numbers, entered the house breaking open the window grills. They took all the inmates of the house hostage at gun point and ransacked it completely. Later, they fled away with the booty. One of the family members received injuries on her head when criminals hit her with their revolver butt, the police said.
On getting the information, the Khagaul police immediately rushed to the place of occurrence. An FIR has been lodged with the Khagaul police station in this connection. No arrest has been made so far. Further investigation is going on. According to Khagaul police, the gang of criminals have been identified. They would be nabbed soon and looted valuables would also be recovered, the police said. One arrested:
A railway employee, Ranjit Kumar, was arrested by the Khagaul police on Sunday for allegedly assaulting railway inspector of works (IOW) Upendra Kumar at Khagaul when he was on duty on Friday. The matter is being probed, the police said.
