April 25: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today attacked the Congress-led UPA government at the centre for its "faulty policies" and said these had led to rise in prices of essential commodities. "Soaring inflation is hitting the common man hard. And the blame for this dismal scenario lies mainly on the Congress-led UPA government at the centre,
" he told an election rally at Soraon near here. He exhorted the voters of Uttar Pradesh to overthrow the "corrupt and criminalised Samajwadi Party" just as their counterparts in Bihar did more than a year ago by ousting Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD from power.
Expressing confidence that the BJP-led alliance in the state would fare well, Kumar said after the election results were out, "the state would have either an NDA government or an NDA-supported government". The rally was also addressed by UP BJP President Kesri Nath Tripathi and Apna Dal Chief Sone Lal Patel.
