PATNA: In a dramatic development, GRP personnel recovered two-year-old Himanshu from Patna Junction on Sunday night. Himanshu was kidnapped from Surajgarha near Lakhisarai a few months ago. "His recovery was made possible thanks to the alert GRP staff on duty at Patna Junction," said DIG (railways) Ajay Verma. According to Verma, the Patna GRP had recently started midnight security check of passengers who either sleep or sit on platforms. It was during one such security check by the GRP personnel that Himanshu's kidnapper left the boy on the platform and fled, Verma said. Verma said the GRP personnel immediately took the weeping boy into their custody. Since his photograph was published in newspapers, the GRP personnel identified him immediately. The Lakhisarai police have been informed about the boy's recovery, he added. With regard to Sunday's Fatuha railway yard shooting incident, Verma said the preliminary investigation has revealed that the killing of the two persons was due to gang rivalry. He said two criminal gangs were involved in rangdari collection and members of one of the gang carried out the attack on three persons at the railway yard in which two died on the spot.
