27 Mar, 2007
PATNA: Barring two minor incidents reported from Aurangabad and Nawada districts, matric examinations at all other centres across the state passed off peacefully on Monday. The total number of examinees expelled till the last day of examination was around 90 in the state, said Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) secretary Vinodanand Jha. According to him, the board has sought reports in detail from those centres where examinations were either disturbed or paper leak was reported. After taking everything into account, the board will take any decision with regard to holding re-examinations, he said. The BSEB secretary admitted that several questions of Mathematics Set 1, which were allegedly leaked out at Gaya, tallied with that of the original set. The board, however, had sought full reports from the district observer and centre superintendent in this matter, he said, adding the board would decide about it after a through probe. Expressing satisfaction at the by and large peaceful conduct of the examinations across the state, the BSEB secretary said the board is now planning to bring out an academic calendar, report cards and new syllabus in the next month. The new technique of questions and examination pattern would also be discussed at the next meeting of the board, he said. The board secretary said as many as 38 observers from different districts had so far submitted reports appreciating the board's move to introduce new examination system in the state. The board had also sought reports from each district, including videograph of the examination centres, so that it could take a concrete decision particularly in the matter of re-examinations, he said.
