PATNA: Senior BJP leader and MP Shatrughan Sinha showcased Bihar and its potential in US requesting the hoteliers and NRIs to invest in India in general and Bihar in particular in view of conducive atmosphere prevailing in the state. Addressing the convention of American-Asian Hotel Owners' Assocaition (AAHOA) at Charlotte in North Carolina on Sunday night, Sinha told members about the immense potential for investment in Bihar saying the state is well on the course of development under CM Nitish Kumar. According to a press release issued here by the former minister's office on Monday, Sinha was key speaker at the function. He said there was enough opportunity for investment in hotel industry. Apprising them of the double-digit growth rate in the tourism sector, he said, "The stage is set for a boom in hotel industry in view of 2010 Commonwealth Games and other high-profile events slated to be held in India." The AAHOA has 8,300 members who together own over 20,000 hotels, the market value of which is around $38 billion. Sinha said in a short period of time, Bihar has attracted investment proposal worth Rs 18,000 crore. He also referred to his own proposal for setting up a mega world class Film City which would not only boost the tourism sector, but also generate employment in the state. Inviting the NRIs to be partner in "incredible India", the BJP leader said, "India certainly deserves you in an era of economic resurgence and rapid industrialisation."
