Massive Plan to Develop Tourism in Bihar

Nand Kishore Yadav, the state Road Construction and Tourism Minister, at the state legislative council on Tuesday, said the government was working on a 20-year master plan to the tune of Rs, 1500 crore to connect all the tourism places in Bihar with modern four-lane highways.The plan includes seven tourism circuits under which places of historical importance pertaining to the Buddha, Jain, Sikh, Gandhi, Sufi, and Ramayan eras would be covered.Tourist spots like Kakolat, Bheem Bandh, and Valmiki Nagar would also be part of the tourism circuit, Yadav said.A special route made up of only soft clay between Sultanganj and Deoghar would also be developed for the convenience of the Kanwarias, he said.There is also a plan to develop Patna's Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport with the help of the Japan Bank of International Cooperation at an estimated cost of Rs. 500 crore, Yadav said.
