27 Mar, 2007
NAWADA (BIHAR): Krishna Sardar, one of the masterminds of the daring jailbreak operation carried out by the proscribed CPI (Maoist) in Bihar's
Jehanabad district in November 2005, was arrested in Nawada district, police sources said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a room of a hotel and took Krishna Sardar into custody on Monday night, sources said. Three others, believed to be close associates of Krishna, were also arrested during the raid, sources said.
They were later sent to jail here. Over 300 prisoners had escaped from judicial custody when the Naxalites attacked the Jehanabad jail in a determined bid to free their colleagues lodged there.
