PATNA: Expulsion of three examinees notwithstanding, matric examinations passed off peacefully on the fourth consecutive day on Thursday at all examination centres across the state. With Thursday's expulsion of three students, the total number of examinees so far expelled from different centres during examinations has gone up to 70. According to Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) secretary Vinodanand Jha, the Chapra DM had reported involvement of a local government school teacher in the alleged unfair means practice at one of the centres in Chapra. The board has decided to take strong action against him. He said the board, which conducted an instant probe into the alleged paper leak incident in Gaya on Wednesday, found the allegation false as the seized papers did not tally with the original papers and it appeared to be part a design of "vested interests" to create confusion among examinees and guardians alike, he said. Referring to the Lakhisarai incident, Jha said the board is fully aware about the activities of gangs involved in running a fake degree rackets with an aim to hoodwink poor and innocent students. The board will welcome exposure of such rackets in future too which are out to ruin students' career, he said. The BSEB secretary said the Board will hold an academic discussion with educationists after the examinations to seek their opinion about the new trend introduced by BSEB this year.
