10 Mar, 2007
PATNA: An India-born British woman has offered a donation of Rs 2 million to a reputed Bihar college to fulfil the wish of her late husband.
Anthea Sharma, wife of Chandra Shekhar Sharma, made the offer during a visit to the Patna Science College to create a memorial in the name of her husband, said college principal S N Guha.
Her husband, who died a few years ago in Britain, always wanted to contribute to the college where he used to teach before leaving India in 1955, Guha said.
Anthea also gifted books and her husband's research publications to the college library. The college has decided to utilise the donation to renovate and extend the examination hall and name it Chandra Shekhar Sharma Memorial Examination Hall.
