Patna, Feb.21 (ANI): It was a special experience for many people in Patna when they recently took part in a run aimed at spreading public awareness and sensitising Biharis about their social responsibilities for the development of the State. Organised jointly by the State Government, corporate houses and many non-governmental organisations, from Raj Bhavan to Gandhi Maidan, the "Run for Development" was flagged of by Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Many distinguished personalities participated in the run. The call for the run was given by the State government and other concerned groups to draw common man's attention and seek their active contribution towards the progress of the State. Commenting on this novel initiative to encourage public involvement in developmental activities, the Chief Minister said that such an event was a major step to build a new mood for State's development. "The run has been organised to spread the message of development. People should take part in the 'Run for Development' for the progress of Bihar and they should promise active participation. The Government is already working for the development. The run was organised by the non- government organisation," said Nitish Kumar. In the near thousand participants, there were some physically disabled kids, who took part with a lot of enthusiasm. "It was a nice experience from Raj Bhavan to Gandhi Maidan. We face quite a lot of problems but for the development of Bihar, we, the physically challenged children, are also here with the Government in the cause of development," said Mukesh Kumar, a physically challenged participant. Another participant, Anna Sinha, a student, said that she was ready to dedicate all her might for the development of Bihar. "It was really a fantastic experience for all of us, full of energy. We, the youth of Bihar, will cheerfully say that we will take Bihar forward in our nation," said Anna Sinha, a student. (ANI)
