Posted online: Wednesday, February 21, 2007Patna, February 21: The Patna High Court on Wednesday adjourned till March 20 hearing of the Bihar government's petition challenging the acquittal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi in a disproportionate assets case, an offshoot of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.
Justice RK Dutta adjourned the hearing at the request of Special Public Prosecutor Akhileshwar Prasad Singh, who was recently appointed by the Nitish Kumar government to handle the case.
Singh sought time till March 20 to peruse the voluminous documents and prepare his argument.
Ahead of CBI's move, Bihar's NDA government had on February 19 challenged the December 18 acquittal of Lalu-Rabri duo in the da case registered by the investigating agency several years ago. In his order, the special CBI court judge Munilal Paswan had acquitted the duo of all charges in the case.
