Patna: Feb. 23 2007,
An annoyed Governor of Bihar, R. S. Gavai, reprimanded the opposition leaders after they continued to interrupt his speech, despite several requests to maintain integrity, at the joint session of the two Houses of the Bihar legislature that met for the budget session on Friday."I want to remind you that I am the Governor of Bihar am also currently the Speaker of the House addressing the joint session. It is my right to complete my speech without any interruption and if you have any objection to anything I say, you will get an opportunity to express them," the Governor said.Mayhem started as soon as the Governor opened his speech. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders, demanding the resignation of the NDA government in Bihar, drowned his voice in slogans in an utter display of disrespect for the office of the Governor.Despite several requests to keep it quiet, the RJD leaders including Mundrika Singh Yadav, Shakeel Ahmed, Shyam Rajak, and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi continued to disrupt the Governor's hour-long, 25-page speech saying they were not interested in a report that was 'prepared by the ruling NDA government'.The Governor somehow finished his speech and left after giving some words of wisdom to the opposing leaders.
